Business Chat Moderator

Job Description:

You’ll be a moderator for our fortnightly Breakfast Business Chats. These are open events where members can join to ask questions or bring up topics for discussion by the community. The moderator is there to keep the conversation flowing, introduce icebreaker questions, and provide question prompts if the discussion stalls. 

Skills:

  • Curiosity
  • Outgoing personality
  • Previous moderation experience useful
  • Be a “morning person”

Tasks:

  • Join 25-50% of business chats
  • Check back with the team if you can’t make it or need support
  • Moderate the conversation including icebreakers and questions prompts
  • Take notes and report back to the communications team
  • Forward any relevant or repeated questions with the board or events team

Time Commitment:

Mornings 8:30-9:30, once every two months or more


Partnerships and Outreach Support

Job Description:

You’ll help Empower connect with the larger community in Ispra and beyond. You’ll work with groups within the JRC to build relationships, define areas for collaboration, and maintain our status in the community. You’ll also work with outside groups to find and create useful resources for our members, such as co-organized events or programs to participate in. 

Skills:

  • Outgoing personality
  • Interest in exploring the local community
  • Ability to find win-win opportunities
  • Experience with partnership management useful
  • Comfort with Italian language useful

Tasks:

  • Communicate with JRC staff regularly
  • Collaborate on regular reports 
  • Communicate with other JRC clubs and outside partners
  • Work with the events team to organize collaborative events and identify speakers

Time Commitment:

2-4 hours/week


Community manager/social media ninja

Job Description:

We are looking for a digital-savvy community manager to take control of EMPOWER online voice. You will be responsible for aligning EMPOWER communications, PR, social media, and website content. You will be the first point of contact for online followers, thus developing an intimate relationship with the EMPOWER online community. The social media manager will be required to run broadcasting campaigns (newsletter) and drive EMPOWER members engagement by creating high-quality original content. 

Skills:

  • Experience with social media is essential
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills (working language English)
  • Creativity
  • Team player

Tasks:

  • Building and maintaining a solid EMPOWER online presence
  • Create engaging content
  • Devise and implement community communication initiatives
  • Close cooperation with Communication working group (web developer/web designer)
  • Newsletter (2-3 times/year)

Time Commitment:

5-10 hours/week


Web designer/developer

Job Description:

You will support the EMPOWER Communication team. We are looking for a web designer/web developer who will be responsible for improving, maintaining and updating Empowers website. Primary duties include conceptualizing and implementing creative ideas for the EMPOWER website improvement.

Skills:

  • Familiarity with WordPress
  • Experience in web programming, web designing
  • Hands-on experience with network diagnostics, network analytics tools
  • Ability to think outside the box to find solutions to problems, to develop ideas and processes
  • Up-to-date experience with international web protocols, privacy policy, standards, and technologies
  • Team player

Tasks:

  • Website improving, expanding and maintaining
  • Directing and performing website updates 
  • Incorporating functionalities and features into websites
  • Close cooperation with Communication working group (community manager)
