About us
EMPOWER is the professional network of Ispra JRC staff partners and spouses. It is a non-profit, volunteer-led initiative driven and run by the partners and spouses of JRC Ispra staff.
The purpose of EMPOWER is to strengthen the sense of professional community among its members. Many JRC partners and spouses experience professional isolation and are looking for a welcoming and inspiring environment. They want to get outside their homes and engage with a community of like-minded people to exchange ideas, collaborate, and grow professionally.
EMPOWER aspires to make a positive impact on our community by enabling the creation of a more welcoming environment, a soft-landing ground for JRC Ispra staff partners and spouses who followed their partners moving to Ispra and had to give up their jobs, switch to remote work or try to integrate to a new reality.
